Carrie (2013)
Carrie, one of the most popular horror movies of 2013, was distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. The original release date was March 15, 2013, but in early January 2013 the release date was moved to October 18, 2013. Sony Pictures Releasing handles theatrical distribution, marketing and promotion for films produced and released by Sony Pictures Entertainment, including Columbia Pictures, TriStar Pictures, Screen Gems, Sony Pictures Classics, Stage 6 Films, Sony Pictures Animation, and Triumph Films. Screen Gems and another subgroup called Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer are the specific ones that released Carrie. Screen gems provides film production studios and infrastructure for television and feature film clients. This means they supply skilled film crews with proper lighting, sound equipment, and stages to create films. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer has been distributing and producing movies since 1924 and is one of the oldest film companies in America. The film was released on DVD and Blu-ray on January 14, 2014. The Blu-ray features an alternative opening and ending and nine deleted scenes.
