Unfriended (2014)

This movie features a group of teenage friends in a video chat with each other over their computers. While they are talking, something hacks their computers and makes them do awful things that result in the teens dying one by one. The target audience for Unfriended is similar to our because, like in our film, the only actors are teenagers. Also, live video-chatting is much more popular among teenagers and young adults as opposed to older age groups.
It was Unfriended’s Kik and Facebook campaigns which really gained points for originality. Fans could chat to Laura, a main character, who “replied” with automated, scripted responses and even directed chatters to the film’s official website. Nobody has ever had advertisement like that before, so it brought a huge attraction from younger, thrill-seeking people.
